Breathing is the essence of life. And respiratory diseases quietly erode the ability to breathe freely in older age. But despite their growing health and economic toll, respiratory diseases remain overlooked in the healthy ageing narrative. As societies age—especially in Asia Pacific—the cost of neglect will grow. Breathing easy examines how health systems can intervene earlier to better prevent, detect and manage respiratory diseases among older adults, focusing on seasonal influenza and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
